MONKSTONE BEACH

monkstone beach
One of our great assets is the gorgeous Monkstone beach.

Monkstone is only a 10 minute walk from Trevayne down a cliff path with steps all the way. Bass and mackerel fishing are especially good at high tide here.

At low tide a large sandy beach is created - a wonderful setting for games, sand castles and sunbathing. The warm waters carried by the Gulf Stream boost temperatures so it’s perfect for bathing. Monkstone's seclusion provides a lovely alternative to the busier beaches at Saundersfoot and Tenby.

In May 1970 Welsh television personality, Wynford Vaughan Thomas, officially opened the Pembrokeshire Coast Path at a ceremony at Monkstone.

WALKING

Camping Pembrokeshire - ViewsThe 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs across the park’s boundaries, providing challenging treks, including 35,000 feet of ascent and descent.
Efforts are justly rewarded by the outstanding shoreline and pastoral scenery. The differing wildlife and landscapes around the coast make it a fascinating area to explore.
For those who prefer gentler routes, there are many walks around the immediate area or in neighbouring woodland. Please enquire at reception.

Pembrokeshire offers a wide range of eateries. Many restaurants use locally grown or reared produce, with fish, lobster and crab a definite speciality.

Both Saundersfoot and Tenby offer cafes and restaurants appealing to all tastes and wallets. Many are family friendly.
